Programmed Pacivity

The other day I read an insightful article entitled 8 Reasons Young Americans Don’t Fight Back: How the US Crushed Youth Resistance. The author makes several good points about why young people have been pacified. They seem to have no spark left.

One of the key points is the bondage and burden of student debt. Who wants to buck the system under such circumstances? That, and other issues raised in the article, likely apply to more than just young people.

Of course, as a friend of mine would point out, we must not overlook the influence of genetics. Much has been bred out of us, making us more vulnerable to external forces which didn’t affect our ancestors. They were made of better stuff.

2 Timothy 3:1-5
1. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
